Killer Penguin Cupcakes

With winter weather fast approaching, nothing is more suitable to cook with (or drink!) than a Barleywine.  We found a recipe for the perfect treat to take to your holiday party - Barleywine cupcakes! Of course we recommend using Killer Penguin and we'd even go as far as to sprinkle some beer soaked raisins on top. Yum. Here's all you'll need to make these mouthwatering cakes:

Cupcakes:

  • 120g plain flour
  • 140g caster sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 40g unsalted butter at room temp
  • 20ml milk
  • 100ml Killer penguin Barleywine
  • 1 egg
  • Drop vanilla extract
  • Two-three handfuls of beer-soaked raisins

Frosting:

  • 200g icing sugar
  • 80g unsalted butter at room temp
  • 25ml beer (maybe a little extra)
  • Drop vanilla extract
