Mug Shots - Dan Lubeck
Dan Lubeck – Mug Shot
Take a peek beyond the beer you love to drink with our blog series titled, "Mug Shots." There are a lot of folks here at Boulder Beer who play a huge role in our day to day success. This is our way of introducing you to the team that makes it all happen. It’s time for you to meet one of our production dudes, Dan Lubeck!
Dan grew up in the small suburban town of Westmont, IL with his parents and 3 siblings. He graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana in 2015 with a degree in Business Management. Dan worked a few beer festivals in Illinois and discovered that his passion for beer and love of the outdoors was a perfect match for a life in Colorado. He made the move out West in August of 2016.
Colorado is a place that’s filled with new and exciting adventures, which is exactly what Dan was after. He wanted to “become more involved in the beer making process” – queue Boulder Beer. He started at the brewery over a year ago and has “enjoyed learning about what really goes into crafting beer.”
When Dan isn’t getting a workout in by lifting kegs (fun fact: we put kegs on pallets by hand) he likes going to shows, playing Frisbee golf, corn hole and beer on the patio, and snowboarding at Keystone. The production and brewing staff are more friends than co-workers, they like going to shows together and even held a golf scramble last summer. Dan’s most memorable concerts were Turkuaz at The Fox and Lettuce at Red Rocks, all of which were accompanied by the brewery crew. Dan is an uncle! His oldest brother’s son was born in March of this year and Dan was able to go home to meet his new nephew, Holden.
When asked what he was most looking forward to in the next year he said “the warm summer months and Boulder Beer’s new redesign.” Due East New England-Style IPA is his favorite beer that we have on tap now – this juicy and hazy IPA is actually getting a spot in our year round lineup of packaged beers! However, if Irish Blessing Oak-Aged Coffee Stout is on tap you can be sure he has a pint in front of him. The Left Coast Sandwich and Dan have a little bit of history as “when I first started working here I ate the Left Coast for 5 weeks straight.” That’s dedication.
Thanks Dan, for all you do! We appreciate you!
