Mug Shots: Meet Brady Kelleher
Take a peek beyond the beer you love to drink with our blog series titled, "Mug Shots." There are a lot of folks here at Boulder Beer who play a huge role in our day to day success. This is our way of introducing you to the team that makes it all happen. It's time for you to meet our Pub Manager, Brady Kelleher!
Brady, who was born in Half Moon Bay, CA, made the move with his family to Colorado when he was 7. After growing up here for a good chunk of his life, Brady decided to go to college in St. Louis, MO majoring in Advertising and Business. After spending many years at school, Brady was ready for a change. The lack of humidity and friendly atmosphere made Brady miss Colorado, so in 2009 he moved back.
Brady started working at a bar in Denver as a door guy and then worked his way up by working positions like bar back, bartender, server and then eventually assistant manager! After working in the downtown Denver bar scene for almost seven years Brady was looking for a change. “I never thought I wanted to work in the restaurant business. I enjoyed my time there but I wanted to try something new,” says Brady.
Brady then started working in sales for ADP. “Selling payroll is about as fun as it sounds,” laughs Brady. After being there for about a year Brady decided to explore other options and saw the posting for an Assistant Manager on Boulder Beer’s website. He applied and the rest is history.
When he is not working at the pub you can find Brady running in City Park in Denver or rooting on the Denver Broncos. “I’m a huge Broncos fan!” says Brady “I also enjoy watching rugby. I used to both play and coach it.” While his family all spent some time living in Colorado, Brady is the only one from his family that still lives here. His parents, Bill & Kim, live in Wyoming, while his older brother Drew lives with his wife and 2 year old in Wisconsin.
When it comes to beer, Brady enjoys brews with a bit more hop bits and can often be found drinking Mojo IPA or Cold Hop British-Style Ale when available. (Look for an earlier Cold Hop release this year in February!) Brady also really enjoyed this year’s hop harvest release, Harvest 16 Fresh-Hopped Peach Pale Ale. To help wash down those beers, Brady has been enjoying the new revamped pub menu. He recommends adding the seared Ahi tuna on the arugula salad.
As 2016 comes to a close, Brady says some of his favorite Boulder Beer memories include a fun summer on the patio, seeing the pub transform with the recent renovations and having the opportunity to make suggestions and help write the new menu!
Looking forward to 2017, Brady is excited to see the pub grow and see how the recent renovations and new menu go over with customers. He is also excited to enjoy some authentic BBQ from the new smoker! Going to school in St. Louis, Brady knows a thing or two about good BBQ!
