Mug Shots: Meet Bruce Hancock
Take a peek beyond the beer you love to drink with our blog series titled, "Mug Shots." There are a lot of folks here at Boulder Beer who play a huge role in our day to day success. This is our way of introducing you to the team that makes it all happen. It's time for you to meet Tour Guide and Brewery Ambassador, Bruce Hancock!
Bruce was born on the east coast in Elmira, NY then lived in Boston for eight years. Bruce then spent the next four decades of his life in Portland, ME before making the move to Boulder, CO where he has lived for the last three years.
You can often find Bruce sharing his knowledge of brewing, cracking jokes and educating others about the history behind Colorado’s First Craft Brewery on our daily 2pm tour.
When Bruce indulges in some pints of Boulder Beer it is usually Mojo IPA or Cold Hop British-style Ale in his glass. His favorite menu item is the Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich. When Bruce is not giving the tour or enjoying some beers you can find him playing with his dogs in the Boulder area.
Bruce is divorced and has two children, Michael and Jessica. He also has one grandson Evin. While sad to leave his Boulder Beer family, Bruce is most looking forward to moving back home to Portland, ME this summer to be closer to his grandson. “I told my daughter that I would move back when my grandson was out of diapers, so it’s time to go back,” says Bruce.
One of the things Bruce will miss is the new look and feel of the Boulder Beer Pub. “The remodel and the menu redo are making the Pub magical again,” exclaims Bruce. “Fresh food with a heavy focus on smoked meats are making Boulder Beer the best BBQ spot in Boulder! Bad part is the delicious food is making me gain weight,” says Bruce.
Thanks Bruce, for all you do! We appreciate you and we will miss you tons!
