Mug Shots: Meet Logan Sellers

Take a peek beyond the beer you love to drink with our blog series titled, "Mug Shots." There are a lot of folks here at Boulder Beer who play a huge role in our day to day success. This is our way of introducing you to the team that makes it all happen. It's time for you to meet a key member of our Production Team, Logan Sellers!

Logan grew up in Angola, Indiana and made the move to Colorado in June of 2015. He had visited the Centennial State several times on family vacations and decided that Colorado had better weather, outdoor activities and other elements that fit better into his lifestyle. Logan didn’t know where he was going when he first came out but ended up staying with a friend in Colorado Springs.

Eager to find a job that combined his background (Logan has a degree in Mechanical Engineering) and his love of homebrewing, Logan visited Boulder Beer one day with a copy of his resume. Brewing and Production Manager, Rob Black was impressed by his spirit, interviewed Logan the following day and hired Logan for his production role shortly after.

When asked about his favorite part about working at Boulder Beer, Logan said the staff. “Boulder Beer is like my second family,” says Logan. “We can often be found hanging out, outside of work. We like to go to shows and play on the local softball team.” Logan is an IPA guy and can often be found drinking Mojo IPA paired with a burger or the Southwest Wrap, with no tomato, off the new menu. Logan always looks forward to the release of Killer Penguin Barleywine, but has been finding himself drinking lots of Hola Maria Mexican-style Ale this year. “The beer is very easy drinking and a great one to enjoy on the patio or outside,” says Logan.

Looking back on the year, Logan says one of his favorite memories in 2017 so far was going to visit his only sister in Australia and New Zealand. “My sister graduated a year early and decided to travel,” says Logan. “Being able to visit her in Australia and visit New Zealand when I was there was one of the best trips of my life.”

Logan is looking forward to making more great memories at Boulder Beer in 2017, but is most looking forward to gaining more knowledge of the brewing process. “I recently got to brew my first pilot batch of beer here, which I am really excited about,” exclaims Logan. “The beer is called Honololo and is a Pineapple Pale Ale. Outside of work Logan is a huge Lettuce fan and excited to be going to their Red Rocks show for a late birthday present to himself on May 13th! You can also find Logan playing disc golf and real golf when he is not working.
